Driving in Bad Conditions

In the USA, people can drive when they turn sixteen years old.

They need to go to the Department of Motor Vehicles and get a license.

Finally, the new drivers are ready to drive! But, they shouldn’t be too excited because the weather affects the roads.

For example, on a rainy day, it’s really easy to lose control. Drivers have to be careful when the roads are wet.

They also have to be careful when it’s snowy. The snow makes the roads very slippery, and many cars crash.

Another time roads are slippery is when there is gravel, or small rocks on them. Even when this road is dry, it is still slippery.

In all of these situations, people lose control of their cars, and they crash.

Most of the time, people are not hurt in these car accidents, but many times, they are. Car accidents are dangerous and sometimes fatal.

But slippery roads are not the only dangerous driving condition. It is also dangerous when the driver can’t see the road. This fog, for example, makes it difficult for the driver to see.

This heavy rain also makes it hard to see. It makes other drivers nervous, too.

Even on sunny days, it can be difficult to see while driving. Sometimes the sun shines in the worst place possible!

In heavy snow, it is hard to see as well. Young drivers have a lot to pay attention to in their new cars.

Yes, It is very exciting to get your driver’s license, but you have to make sure to drive safely in all that weather. Good luck out there!
